Reps. Velázquez and Bonamici Introduce Resolution Supporting National Young Audiences Arts for Learning Week

Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Nydia M. Velázquez (D-NY) and Rep. Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR) introduced a House resolution expressing support for the designation of the week of April 9, 2023, through April 15, 2023, as National Young Audiences Arts for Learning Week. The resolution highlights the contributions of Young Audiences Arts for Learning in promoting arts education and recognizes the impact of the arts on youth development.
 
“During National Young Audiences Arts of Learning Week, we recognize the incredible power and inspirations that the arts’ has on our young people across the country,” said Congresswoman Velazquez. “Supporting the arts in student learning is crucial to the development of our youth and this week serves as a reminder that we must continue to advocate for more arts education in schools nationwide.”
 
“The arts are an integral part of a well-rounded education,” said Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici. “National Young Audiences Arts for Learning Week is an opportunity to recognize the power that arts education and STEAM programs have to help students reach their full potential. This week and every week I am committed to doing all I can to increase access to these important educational opportunities for all students.”
