Velázquez on Anniversary of 9/11

Washington, DC –Rep. Nydia M. Velázquez (D-NY) released the following statement regarding the anniversary of 9/11:

"All New Yorkers will always remember the terrible attacks of 9/11, the neighbors we lost and our brave first responders who risked their lives and, in many cases, sacrificed their health to protect the rest of us. Sixteen years after that dark day, we must remain committed to caring for one another in good times as well as bad. During the attacks we saw New Yorkers and Americans at their best –courageous, compassionate and united in the face of unspeakable evil. Let us all work to ensure we carry those values forward, not only on this solemn anniversary, but also every day."
