Velazquez Condemns Deportation Raids

Washington, DC – Rep. Nydia M. Velázquez (D-NY) released the following statement regarding news reports that the Administration is preparing a new round of deportation raids targeting immigrant families:

"These unconscionable raids are an affront to our heritage as a nation of immigrants. These actions do nothing to make our nation safer, but they do sow fear among immigrant communities and families by targeting women and children who, in many cases, have already fled dreadful circumstances. The Administration must cease these shameful tactics immediately."
