Velázquez on Passing of Bienvenido Antonio Reina
Washington, DC – Rep. Nydia M. Velázquez (D-NY) issued the following statement regarding the passing of Bienvenido Antonio Reina:
"Bienvenido was a respected and hardworking member of the Williamsburg community. As an immigrant from the Dominican Republic, he came to our City, worked hard and raised his children to be good citizens. I know he must have been immensely proud when his daughter, Diana, became the first Dominican women elected to the City Council and, later, when she became the first Dominican to serve as the Deputy Borough President of Brooklyn. My thoughts and prayers are with Bienvenido's family and all those who knew and loved him."
