Washington, DC –On Wednesday, Congresswoman Nydia M. Velázquez (D-NY) hosted a roundtable discussion between federal, state and city officials aimed at finding ways to ensure New York City small firms impacted by Hurricane Sandy receive assistance they need to fully recover.

Washington, DC – Rep. Nydia M. Velázquez (D-NY) issued the following statement marking Asian Pacific American Heritage Month:

"As Chinatown's Congressional Representative, I'm especially proud of the countless contributions Asian Americans have made to our City's cultural and economic fabric.

Washington, DC – Two Brooklyn organizations that advocate for fairer and more affordable housing in New York City are receiving additional resources from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Rep. Nydia M. Velázquez (D-NY) announced today. Brooklyn Legal Services Corporation and South Brooklyn Legal Corporation are receiving $975,000, collectively, to continue providing legal and other services to working families in Brooklyn.
