Dr. Shah is a family medicine physician currently serving as the Chief Medical Officer of Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic in New York.

The resolution aims to help increase awareness of how community arts education in different forms such as dance, music, theater, and literary arts stimulates learning, sparks activism, and supports the overall well-being of our communities.

The bill’s introduction coincides with the 200-year anniversary of the Monroe Doctrine, which has been used to justify American intervention in Latin American affairs throughout the policy’s history.
